We use superior transfer equipment to transfer 8mm to DVD or Super 8mm to DVD right from the projector's gate using a 3CCD video camera for a larger, clearer, and sharper transferred image to a digital format one frame at a time. Capturing one frame at a time helps remove most flicker from your movie. At this time we cannot convert 8mm with sound. We can convert the film, just not the sound.
Our first step in transferring 8mm film to dvd is the cleaning process. As we are cleaning your film we inspect and repair any broken splices. We use a special cleaning cloth with a cleaning fluid to remove the dust and lubricate the film. During the capture process we will also use compressed air to remove any "hairs" not removed during the cleaning process.
Our equipment uses a light source that cannot burn your film. Also, during the 8mm film transfer process the light source is monitored and adjusted to provide brighter scenes where the movie is dark and tones down the scenes where the movie is too bright.
That digital format file is then edited to delete all totally dark and white sections. We color enhance the movie where possible. We then create a DVD movie from that file. If you prefer to edit your own movie, a digital .avi or .mpeg file can be created for your use in your own editing software.
With a minimum order of $75.00 (before S&H and any applicable taxes for Florida residents) the DVDs will be placed in a DVD Case (Type C) with a color insert displaying the title (front and binder) and a picture captured from the movie. The same title and picture will also be printed on the DVD surface. For orders less than $75.00 and Type A and B copies the DVD comes in a jewel case.
We do not charge extra to put your home movie to DVD. Our conversion prices include the DVD creation. There are no additional set-up, splicing charges, or any other special fees. Our pricing provides you with a quality 8mm to DVD or Super 8 to DVD transfer for the listed prices. Be sure to compare the final cost and not just the initial teaser costs when comparing companies.
